Today we announce a Pay-it-Forward program of support for charitable non-profits seeking photography services. We are eager to create a sustainable model to serve both corporate clients and non-profits to help them better market themselves, develop funding and further fulfill their missions. You can read the entirety of the press release by clicking [Here].

How does it work? The core construct is this – Portland Event Photography will contribute matching hours of corporate client’s photography services to the client’s favorite non-profit. Simply put, if we’re hired for 5 hours of paid corporate photography, we contribute 5 hours of photography to the client’s favorite non-profit for their communication needs. It’s as simple as that!

While presenting this concept to clients recently, I hadn’t realized the idea is actually a well-defined, centuries-old model called “Pay-it-Forward!” It even has its own Wikipedia page! You can read more on the “Pay-it-Forward” history [Here].

In this model, clients receive paid photography services, and then contribute photography to their favorite charitable non-profit for that organization’s communications needs. An immediate benefit is drawing businesses closer to actively supporting the non-profit community. We see “Pay-it-Forward” is a win-win for everyone. Our clients think we’re on to a valuable model. Last month we did a preliminary announcement to test the waters and found a unanimous positive response from the membership at the MPI Oregon Chapter annual expo.

Successful communications really requires the use of images for digital storytelling. This is what we do best. Sure, it means a potential of a lot of donated time, but with the corporate client’s support, we create a win/win scenario for all.

So, if you have need of photography for company meetings, social events, executive portraits or even company parties, send us your details, and participate in building a better community!
